'Scattered Among Millions of Micro Posts'

Manton Reece in The unremarkable yesterday:

Yesterday was unremarkable only because we’re too close to it. Later we’ll understand that it meant everything. And if that’s true, let’s aspire to something greater than our content being sliced up and interspersed with ads on someone else’s platform.

Excellent point by Manton Reece of keeping posts or updates in one central place. You never know what might be important or of any value later.

I have grown tired of all things commonly regarded as social media and over time more or less stopped posting updates other than an occasional Good Morning or such. Besides trying to stay to connected on social media I rather share everything on one blog (as in this one). It certaily takes more time and effort to do so, but that also eliminates the randomness of the posts and gives them more value.
