It has been pretty busy recently, but here are again a few of the things that I liked during the last two weeks.
First some apps
I was very excited about DevonThink to Go when it came out, yet it didn’t stick. It’s a fine app, but I found Notebooks, which is rather similar, to suit much better to my needs and it is as close to a Plain-Text-based-Dropbox-only workflow as it gets. The iOS apps are very nice, sync fast and all files stay in its original format. I like that I can link directly to files, say, from a task in OmniFocus or my calendar, which is what I have been looking for, and a big help for my paperless workflows.
I don’t use it for all my notes though, only for a certain subset of them. The rest of my notes is going into Notes.app, which does an excellent job.
Talking about apps, I do like the addition of keyboard shortcuts to the WordPress.app, even though I don’t write in it that much. That is done of course in Ulysses.
And some culture
Obviously the Rogue One trailer was a good one. Even though my excitement is surprisingly limited at the moment, I’m looking forward to the movie.
I continue my Neil Gaiman binge and am currently reading Anansi Boys and am enjoying a lot.
The biggest thing during this week was that we had the chance to see Louis CK live in Helsinki. It was the first time I saw im live and we had a lot of fun. It was a great show and a great birthday gift from my wife.
